Is anyone else feeling more stressed than usual this holiday season?
Christmas has always been a time of excitement in our family. The lights, the carols, the cheerful spirit -- what’s not to love?
Normally it feels like time drags leading up to the big day, with the anticipation of watching everyone open up their gifts slowly eating away at my insides.
But this year Santa seems to have snuck up on me, and I’m scrambling to get everything done. Please tell me I’m not alone!
I’m immensely thankful that, during the crazy holiday hustle and bustle, we got the chance to slow down and catch up with some of our closest friends.
This little handsome devil is celebrating his very first Christmas this year, so of course we had to capture some memories.
For the first few sets, he was feeling a little fussy and not quite sure he wanted to cooperate, but we were fortunate enough to sneak a few good ones in.
Then, we headed out into the crisp winter air to our favorite local tree farm, CT Farms in Parkesburg, PA, for some family photos.
The weather was perfect -- not too much sun and unseasonably mild with temperatures in the mid-50s.
We set up shop between a trio of beautiful Blue Spruces and got to work.
The setting could not have been more perfect, complete with an inexpensive sherpa-sided blanket from Ross and wooden ornaments straight off the family Christmas tree.
Now that mommy and daddy were forced to pose and get their pictures taken, little Mav seemed to open up a bit and get used to the idea, allowing up to truly capture the love between this new family.
It really helps you to remember what the holiday season is really all about.
It’s not about the gifts, or who has the best Christmas lights. It’s about being close to the ones you love, sharing laughs and making memories.
